Meet Bob

This is one of Evan's best friends. His name is Bob. He just happens to be a "builder" like the other Bob, but that is not where he got his name. See one of Evan's first words was BOB. Evan doesn't know anyone named Bob, so I have no idea where this came from. It was at this time that Evan started carrying "Bob" around all the time so he just became Bob. Now he points to him and says "Bob". He likes to chew on poor Bob's work boots, so they are starting to wear, I guess they are not steal toe boots as it looks like his toes are starting to peek through. Bob used to have a dump truck that he would drive around in, but he's been on "vacation" and it has been Monkey that drives around in Bob's dump truck. I'm sure this doesn't make any sense to anyone but Evan and Pete. Anyway it has only been recently that Evan has really started to enjoy playing with Bob's dump truck, now that he knows how to push the buttons to make it go across the room. It's a pretty cool truck. Bob's a pretty cool guy. As you might have guessed by now, the camera is broken. Can you believe the button flew right off the camera?!?! So I figured I'll scan something and Bob was the first one I thought of. It's not safe to scan the baby is it? Just kidding! Pete's in NY and will be back tomorrow with his new baby (camera) to take pictures of his eleven month old baby!

I hate pollen and pollen hates me.(mommy)

I didn't take this picture, but this is what everything looks like outside due to the pollen. Isn't it gross? Just looking at this picture makes my eyes itchy.

Today was so hot that I don't even remember much of the day. I know that Evan was up late last night because he had a bit of ice cream for the first time. So he was extra sleepy today. I think he is also going through a bit of a growing spurt, plus it has been so hot. The pollen around here has been out of control. Everything is covered in thick layer of green pollen, including Evan's new pool. It's put quite a damper on everything. First I couldn't wait for it to be warm out, and now that it's warm I can't wait to be able to go outside without sneezing my head off. Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler out. Here are some more photos from last Thursday, when it was cooler out, before the pollen attacked.

Look how much fun he is having driving his car!!
.
Look at those two little bottom teeth!
.
Here you can see him making his car noises while he steers.
.
He loves his car.

Shopping with Steve, Pete and Tiny

Here are some photos from our little shopping trip with Steve, Pete and Tiny. We were lucky to have met up with them in New Hope, Pa last Thursday. Sadly, Pete and Tiny were headed back home the next day (Friday). We miss them already.

I like this photo because look how tall I look! I never look tall! Thanks Tiny!

Early Summer

The temperature hit 93 degrees today in Philly, so we set up a little swimming pool for Evan. Sure enough, he loved it. Here's some photos from today's fun.

Day with Daddy

Evan has been enjoying time with his Daddy since he's been home. Just look how happy he is to be hanging out with his Daddy...
Daddy was bouncing a ball on his head while these pictures were being taken
.
Evan loves New Jersey...
.
And Daddy loves Evan.
.
In other news, Evan taught himself (by accident) how to kick and "dribble" a ball. He is quite good at moving the ball all over the living room, his Poppy would be so proud! I think the football (soccer) genes have definitely been passed down. -posted by Mommy

Arctic Splash

I have a feeling it's going to be a hot summer. Today was in the high eighties temperture wise, tomorrow is supposed to be just as hot. Toys R Us was having a sale so we went and picked up some things to keep Evan cool, occupied and happy.

This is his new Arctic Splash Water Table
see the polar bear?
I made Evan wear a bib thinking that might keep him dry. It kept about a speck of him dry. He was soaked. -post by Mommy

Evan's Day at the Zoo

Since the weather was so nice today, we decided to take Evan to the Philadelphia Zoo. I was surprised at how much he enjoyed it. Most of the animals were just laying around today because it was so warm out, but the big cats were very active, walking all around their enclosures. Evan got to see Pumas and Tigers very close up. He also tried Dippin' Dots for the first time today, Banana Split flavor. He seemed to enjoy it, although I think they were too cold for his tongue, he kept making a face. He did like some of Daddy's Rita's water ice though! We checked out the big Turtles, Spider Monkeys, Hippos, Kangaroos, and Elephants. What a fun day!

Touch and Go at Willow Grove

We noticed planes doing "touch and go" landings at Willow Grove Naval Air Base on our way back from New Hope. We decided to stop and let Evan see the plane land. He seemed to enjoy it nearly as much as I did.(Very windy audio, sorry)

Meeting Aunts, Uncles, & English Cousins

Wednesday, we were scheduled to bring Evan to go and meet his English cousins who were visiting my brother's house in Milltown, NJ, the town I grew up in. Genevieve was in the computer room with Evan, when I heard a horrible crash. Evan had fallen, and smashed his face into a box that had my printer in it. Of course, it was a good minute before the scream came out, but when it did, boy was it a big one. His poor little face was instantly bruised, and it must have hurt like hell. We out him down for a nap after that figuring a little rest would help him get over the most recent falling injury. A little later, we headed up to Milltown, where he met his Uncle Steve, Aunt Michelle, and cousins Pete & Tiny from England for the first time. Here's some photos from Wedensday night in Milltown:

Phillies' World Series Trophy at the Children's Please Touch Museum

The Phillies' World Series Trophy was going to be at the Children's Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia today so we went to see it and take tons of pictures (of course). The line wasn't long at all to see the trophy, and when it was our turn Evan right away tried to touch it! The trophy "security guards" jumped in to save the trophy. They almost had a heart attack. The one guard admitted that he knew it might be a bad idea to take something that you can't touch to the Please Touch Museum. Pop Pop almost had a heart attack too, he said he immediately started adding up in his head how much it would cost him if Evan knocked the trophy to the floor.

He had the time of his life at the museum, his face just lit up when we walked in and he saw all the kids running around and playing. I was worried that everything would be too old for Evan, but even for a ten month old baby there was soooo much to see and do. There was even a band there that Evan really enjoyed, it might have been his favorite thing at the museum today. All though it's hard to say, Evan really did enjoy everything there.

Spring Super Sunday in Media

We (Mommy, Nana, and PopPop) took Evan to a street fair in Media Pa today. It was his first one, he was so quiet just trying to take everything in. The street was very busy with activity so there were a lot of legs in his way but through the legs he saw lots of doggies and other kids. All the kids LOVED his car, he was quite a head turner today.

Mr. Bump

Another day, another bump. Actually two bumps on the poor baby's head. The first came early this morning when Evan was just standing next to his play house, when all of a sudden he just fell forward and SLAMMED his head against the play house mailbox. It was the worst one yet. I didn't know it was possible for someones head to dent like that and turn instantly blue. It scared me to death. And of course it took a good minute for the scream to come out, I actually thought he might pass out from not breathing. His mouth was wide open, but no sound came out -at first- but when it did, I think even the neighbors heard. My poor poor baby. Then an hour or two later he was out back walking with Nana, she was holding his hand, and boom down he went again, right on his head, on the same side as his new bump from this morning too. It was a nice day, and we were going to go to the park, but after all that I figured the best thing to do was to just strap him in his stroller and try to keep him off his feet, or should I say head, for the day. So we spent most of the day at Target looking at toys. Evan got a new bouncy ball, some Spongebob Matchbox Cars, two plastic monster cups and plate and a truck that makes cool truck noises, all on Easter clearance, I love Target. We ended the night with a nice car ride around the block in Evan's new car, we "drove" past a birthday party in full swing, with a lawn full of screaming kids running around with water guns and a huge bounce house in the driveway full of bouncing kids. I'm sure Evan was thinking about how much fun that looked, I'm sure he wasn't thinking the same thing as me, which was oh boy, all the bumps and bruises I have to look forward too on this poor kids head. -mommy

You can see the *gulp* dent above his eyebrow on his head, this picture was taken before the second fall.
