Grave Digger!

Here it is! The awesome video, me, Evan and Eliana made using the GoPro Hero 3 camera mounted to Evan's "Grave Digger" monster truck.

Snowy Weekend

Evan and Eliana stayed with me this weekend. We had a really good time. We mostly stayed indoors, but we did venture out for a few minutes to play in the snow and take some pics. The kids have been begging to play in the snow, but it's been so darn cold out, that's it's hard to keep them out for more than 30 minutes without them starting to freeze.

So we went out for a bit, kicked the soccer ball around in the snow, and Evan shoveled himself a path in the backyard. We still had about a foot of snow back there. Eliana decided she had had enough and it was time for them to go inside and warm up in a nice hot bath!

Come on you guys! Just one photo! They act like I'm torturing them. Also, don't worry, I zipped up Evan's coat immediately after this photo.

Eliana and Daddy.

Evan and Daddy pose for a pic.

Here's a photo of the "Icicle Garden" me and the kids made. We put battery powered tea lights behind the icicles to make them glow.

Please Touch Museum Class Trip

Yesterday was Evan's class trip to the "Please Touch Museum" in Philadelphia. I went along as one of the parent chaperones. We had a really good time, and the kids were very well behaved, (for the most part.) First thing we did, was to give all the kids a ride on the carousel.

There was a large section of water tables where the kids could play in the water, make water wheels turn, and make waves.

Evan and his classmates checking out the "Walking Piano," which became the "Stomping Piano."

How many Kindergarteners can you fit on a scooter?

You can also fit 5 Kindergarteners in a tiny convertible.

It's COLD Outside.

As most people know it's been rather cold up here in the Northeast for the last few weeks. We had a storm that dropped nearly 14 inches of snow with temperatures barely reaching the 20s during the day, and dropping down to single digits at night.
Evan had fun yesterday knocking down icicles and saving them in the snow in the backyard.
It was 18 degrees yesterday, so we only had about 30 minutes of playtime in the snow. Even they were asking to go inside at that point.

Time For a Haircut

Evan went to see Aunt Andi to get his haircut a few days ago. It was getting a little long and it was just time. Evan left looking even more handsome than when he walked in. Eliana was funny, she went and sat right in the barber's chair. She thought she was getting a haircut too. She seemed a little disappointed. We'll have to make an appointment for her soon too.

Talking with Evan and Eliana

Back in September I tried to get the kids to sit down and tell me about their lives on camera. Silliness ensued. They also take time to tell us about the animals around the world, and the birds in "Konifornia." Very cute video, I want to do some more like this in 2014

Eliana Singing to Mimi

Eliana singing to Mimi when she was just a wee kitten. This was back in August. When it was nice and warm out. I miss those days. Mimi was about 3 weeks old when I got her. I had to feed her cat milk formula from an eye dropper. She grew quickly and got rather aggressive, always scratching and biting me and the kids. She seems to be doing a lot better now that there is another cat around.
