Boy, I was hoping I'd never have to write this, especially with him only being 2 years old, but Evan will be going to the hospital tomorrow morning for surgery. It's a minor procedure, but as every parent knows, when it comes to your kids, nothing is minor, especially since he has to go under anesthesia. We have to be at the hospital at 6:15am, so I'm hoping all goes well and we're home somewhat early.
Evan has a condition called a "Communicating Hydrocele," sort of a precursor to a hernia. Turns out it's quite common, and we're lucky enough to have a surgeon who does about 300 of these surgeries a year on kids as young as premies. So, although we've never heard of it before, we're finding out that it happens to kids all the time, and that after surgery, kids can go home the same day.
I'll post updates in the morning.
