Pain!

So what you didn't see in the photos the other day from our little snowboarding adventure was Daddy trying out standing up on Evan's sled while going down the hill. Needless to say, I had a few rather unimpressive looking wipeouts, and today I'm paying for it! My whole body hurts. The first time I went down the hill standing up, I did alright, until I started going really fast, then my knee drove right into the icy ground and I ended up in a pile at the bottom of the hill. I felt a burning sensation in my knee that I'd never felt before. I gingerly rose to my feet, with the wind nearly knocked out of me, I squeezed out a "Im okay" to Evan at the top of the hill. Once the pain subsided, I gained enough confidence to try again. I made it down the hill rather flawlessly a few times, but the falls I did have still hurt a few days later. Falling on that icy ground was like falling on concrete, and lets face it, I'm not getting any younger.

If Jesus Had a Camera

Evan, first thing this morning:
"Daddy, guess what?"

Me: What?

Evan: "If Jesus had a camera, he could take pictures of the dinosaurs!"

Look at Evan Go!

Today was Evan's first time riding a sled, little did I know it would also become his first time snowboarding!

Look at him go! I was so impressed. He fell the first few times, but quickly got the hang of it, and was going down the hill standing up on his sled again and again!

Please Stand By

Well, my computer is in the shop and it doesn't look like good news, it may have to go out to Apple, and it could take weeks. So it looks like I'll be posting updates from my phone for awhile.

We went out to the airport this afternoon to watch the planes come in. This is a shot from just before sunset.

Earlier in the day Evan said "Take my picture with Lucy." Eliana didn't want to be in the picture. Fun day with the kids today.

Long Shadows of Winter

So we managed to get out of the house for a bit before sunset. Evan and Eliana had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese earlier in the day, and playing inside with Legos was loosing it's luster. So we headed outside with the scooters and took a cruise around the neighborhood. They noticed that they had some pretty long shadows and wanted to take a photo of it. They also stopped by to check in in their pal "Tree Man," who now has a new house behind him.

Awesome Day!

Saturday I took the kids to a really cool park nearby. They have an excellent playground and a huge astroturf football/soccer field. We had one of those unusually mild January days where the sun was shining the whole time and it was comfortable without a jacket. We were there for FIVE HOURS!
Evan and Eliana would wear themselves out on the playground. Take a juice/snack break, then they wanted to play soccer on the big field. They really had a great time. Then it was time for a juice break, then back to the playground again! Evan met another little boy, also named Evan! He was 5 years old, and Evan and Evan had a lot of fun playing soccer together. We played until the sun set. If I would have let them, they would have stayed until midnight, I'm sure.

There was a guy there flying some neat model planes! The kids loved this, but I don't think the guy was to crazy about having kids nearby. He folded the wings up and carried it back to his car as soon as I took this shot. I think he was afraid of kids touching the plane. He had about half a dozen of these planes.

Then it was bedtime.

Eliana's First Concert!

Eliana went to her first concert EVER over the holidays, featuring PSY (Over 1 Billion views on YouTube) and JUSTIN BEIBER, her favorite! (800 million views for the video "Baby," not bad.)
Yes, they both had headphones on, not as much for the music, as the girls screaming! Reminded me of my days on the Hanson tour. The show was really long, but Eliana did well, even though she was getting a little tired by the time Justin Bieber came on. After the initial excitement, she was ready to go home. Needless to say, they both had a good time, and their cousins Ava and Frankie were there too!

Elvis and Lucy

Elvis and Lucy looking so sad in the lap of luxury.

Here's Elvis and Lucy visiting with their Dad this past week. They not only want to be fed, but they want a part of whatever snack or meal that Daddy happens to be having. They sit and stare at me like they haven't been fed in weeks. It's funny how intuitive dogs are though. Whenever I'm driving them from the Lambert's to my place, they start whining and getting antsy within a few blocks of my place. It's almost as if they know the route. Whenever I'm returning them. without even saying a word, just by looking out the window, they know we're getting close to the house and they start going crazy.

Back to Work

Christmas vacation is over and Daddy is back to work. I was scouting for a commercial for PayPal and they wanted some graffiti walls. I came across a few I thought the kids would like. Especially this one!
Blastoff!

Neat!

Cool!

Walk the Plank

This past week, we watched the original Star Wars movies. Evan wanted to re-create a scene from Return of the Jedi. Approximately, not exactly. In this case R2-D2 and C-3PO are being forced to walk the plank by some Storm Troopers.

Surprise Snow

Evan and Eliana slept over Daddy's place Saturday night, and when we woke up (late) Sunday morning, we were surprised to see that it had snowed overnight! I had no idea it was supposed to snow. Well, Evan and Eliana sure were excited, even though it was only a small amount, it was enough to make some snowballs.

Evan had fun trying to hit the street sign.

Check out Eliana's mean throwing face.

Ringing in the New Year

Evan's New Year Sign.

The kids got to enjoy some play time in the snow last week.

Eliana told me she was screaming because she didn't want her picture taken

Eliana named him "Frosty," obviously.

Happy 2013!

Eliana on her awesome new scooter.

Our first (substantial) snow, Dec. 29th.

Hey, no throwing snowballs at Daddy! At least not when I have the camera.

This Winter's first snowman. He is still standing and had sparklers placed on his head for New Year's last night.
