2 Months Old Tomorrow!

Evan will be 2 months old on August 1st.

Heyyyy, whatdya want from me, eh?
Evan laughed for the first time this weekend. The Philadelphia Soul had won the Arena Football Championship, and Jon Bon Jovi is one of the owners, so I started singing "You Give Love a Bad Name" to Evan, and natuarally, he started laughing. First time I've ever heard him laugh!

We Got the Orbit!

So, apparently, in the world of infant strollers, the Bugaboo has been all the rage, especially with celebrities, sort of the Bentley of baby strollers. You can't walk more than 100 ft. in Central Park without seeing a dozen of them. Last week, we got the Orbit stroller system, which is sort of a step up from the Bugaboo, or the Maybach of strollers if you will. We've been talking about getting this for at least 9 months, finally, I picked it up in Manhattan last week, and brought it down to the shore house. I have to say, it is really easy to use. Everything folds and comes apart real easy. The real bonus is how easy snaps in and out of the car seat base. It goes from stoller to car seat in about 2 seconds, which, if anyone's ever dealt with a car seat before, you know how hard it can be to get the kids in or out. (Special thanks to his Nan and Poppy in Florida who helped us get his new stroller!)

Evan turning heads in his new stroller at his first parade in Stone Harbor, NJ.

About to go for our first walk in the Evan's new stoller whilst simultaneously practicing Cesar's "Calm Assertive" technique on the dogs. I love "The Dog Whisperer." I'm afraid Lucy needs some serious 'whispering' though. It felt strange crossing the road for the first time with Evan. It's something you don't think about when you do it yourself. I think I waited until both side were completely clear before I crossed.

Still has the wrapper on the handles! Even comes with a 'paparazzi shield.'

Doctor's Visit Today

( I think Evan's gonna have blue eyes...)

Evan had his 2 month check up today. He weighed in at 13lbs and is 23 inches in length. He's in the 95th percentile in weight, meaning there's only 5% that weigh more than him at 8 weeks. He had a few vaccinations today. We were a bit trepidatious about getting all his vaccinations in one day after reading all that's in the news regarding a correlation between vaccinations and Autism. The doctor seemed rather adamant about the fact that there's no scientific evidence to support there being a link, but Genevieve and I decided to err on the side of caution and only do a few of the shots today, and do the rest in a few weeks. Will this change anything? We don't know. Obviously, we want the best for Evan. We know he needs these vaccinations, we were just concerned about some of the things we've been reading. So Evan will be going back in a few weeks for the remainder of his shots. Other than the paranoid parent stuff, Evan is doing great! He's sitting here right now watching me type at the computer.

On the flip side, Genevieve and I are actually going out tonight for the first time in months! We're going to see "The Dark Knight" in Imax at 1AM. We figured once he's asleep, we may be able to get out for a few hours. We've been hearing rave reviews about the movie, so hopefully, it will be good.
Me and Genevieve having fun as always.
Things are happening so fast I can hardly keep up. He's starting to reach for things on his own now without anyone's help.

Photos from the Beach House in Avalon, NJ

I only had two days at the shore house in Avalon with Genevieve and Evan, but we made the most of it, and of course took TONS of photos. Evan will be 8 weeks old this Sunday, and he's getting so big, so fast. I'll post more pics from the shore house this week.

Evan's First Time at the Beach

Evan went to the beach for the first time yesterday. The Lambert's have a beach house every year in July, and I drove down there on my only day off to hang out with the family. Genevieve and I took Evan down to the beach for a quick photo session. More pictures later!

Working in New York

Haven't posted in a while because I've been so busy working on a tv commercial in New York. I'm hoping to get some time off this weekend to go down and spend some time with Genevieve and the baby at the shore house in Avalon, NJ. Here's a photo from this past weekend at Ted and Andy's engagement/house warming party.

This is probably one of my favorites of all time (6 weeks)
I didn't even have time to Photoshop the little scratch on
his nose, I just took the pictures and posted them on the
blog within an hour
.

We took Evan out in the car for the first time this weekend.
First, we took him with us to pick up dog food. We have to
get prescription dog food for Elvis & Lucy, and our vet is a
40 minute drive in each direction. Genevieve wanted to get
out of the house, so we took Evan with us. He was great
on the ride out there, but Gen said that when I went in the
place to get the dog food, he started crying worse than he's
ever cried before, so much so that she started to panic. He
even cried real tears for the first time. So Gen fed him, and
he was fine on the way home. Today, we took him out to see
our friends Frank & Heather who live a few towns over and
have two girls of their own. Again, Evan was great in the car,
he only had one serious meltdown as we were about to leave,
but it was over in five minutes and I think it was just because he
was really tired. Frank hooked me up with a back pack that
folds out into a seat, so you walk around with the baby sitting
comfortably behind you. This will be great for our trips into
Manhattan when he's a bit older.

4:30 AM

It's a little after 4:30AM, and I just got Evan to sleep a few minutes ago. He was pretty upset for a good hour, so I held him, walked around the house with him, and tried to help him sleep while I uploaded photos on the computer. Genevieve handed him off to me, I guess she was pretty tired and wanted me to take him for a while. If I can give Genevieve a break and let her sleep for at least a few hours, then I guess that would be a good thing. She's been sleep deprived for about 6 weeks now, so I guess I should help her out. Speaking of photos, I just uploaded a bunch of new photos on the Flickr site, so check them out. Here's the link to the photos on Flickr. I got back logged due to work, but there's a lot of new pics, mostly one's Genevieve took while I was away in New York.

Also, we finished the Birth Announcement on Photoshop tonight, so they should be in the mail next week. I know we announced Evan's birth on the blog, and I'm sure everyone knows by now, but we wanted to do sort of a formal birth announcement. Also, Thank You cards will be going out if you haven't gotten one already. So many of my friends were really generous, so I just wanted to say thanks.

Thursday, July 10th

I got to spend a little time at home this week. It's been hard
adjusting to the routine that Evan and his Mom are already
used to. I've been trying to help out, changing diapers and holding
him more. He's been really vocal lately and smiles all the time.
Evan will be 6 weeks old this weekend.

Big Boy

Can't wait to see Evan. Genevieve's been taking photos and sending them to me so I can see how he's doing. I can't believe how big he's gotten since I've been away. He looks so happy, content, and well fed. I'm working on an MTV commercial shoot at a High School in Long Island today. I'm hoping to drive back to the Philadelphia area after we wrap tonight. It's about a 3 hour drive depending on how bad traffic is, could be longer. Can't wait to spend time with my little boy.

Look, he's already trying to stand up on his own!

Some New Photos

I've been working insane hours on film productions in New York for the past several days, sometimes 16 hours a day or longer. I'm looking forward to going home and hanging out with Evan this weekend, but if more work comes, I may have to stay and even work on 4th of July. Here's some New York scenes thatI shoot for work. I spend most of my day (and night,) driving around New York City finding locations for television commercials.
