At the Hospital for Evan's Surgery

5:30am - Heading to Hospital

6:15am - At the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

7:00am - Pre-op - This was tough. Evan was not happy and made it clear he did not want to be there. He didn't want anyone to examine him, take his temperature, or anything. He didn't want to put on the hospital pajamas and didn't want to take the 'giggle juice.' He told me to "open the door" because he wanted to leave. Once the nurse was able to get some Giggle Juice in him, (not willingly,) he started calming down within a few minutes. All I can say is thank God for the iPhone. It kept him distracted long enough for the medicine to start to take effect.

7:35am - Evan is wheeled into surgery. Watching him get wheeled away was hard. But he was watching 'Cars' on the Doctor's iPhone as he left the room.

7:55am - Surgery waiting room. Genevieve and I are here trying not to think about Evan in surgery. We're told he could be in recovery in an hour.

8:00-8:20am - I got lost trying to find the parking garage. Needed to get my parking ticket stamped. Totally lost all over the hospital.

8:25am - Made it back to the waiting room. Surgeon came in and told us the surgery went well and Evan is back in the recovery room doing fine.

9:00am - Post Op - Evan was still out when we walked into the recovery room, when he came to, he was really cranky and wanted everything off of him right away, the IV, heart monitor, everything off!

10:00am - Left the hospital.

10:30am - Evan arrives home.

11:30am - Evan's sitting on a big chair with a blanket, watching Toy Story 3, a present from his buddy CJ. Thanks CJ!

He's currently having some Elmo's Vegetable Soup. Nana and Poppop bought him a giant Elmo balloon, but Evan said he wanted the Batman balloon he saw in the store the other night, so I went back out to the store to get him some more balloons, ice pops, and soup.

8:00pm - After about a 4 hour nap with Mommy, Evan's up and running around as usual. All in all, it was a good day, and we're glad it's behind us.
