4th of July

Evan checks out an Army AH-1 Cobra helicopter, part of a memorial in Milltown, NJ.

This July 4th, I took Evan and Eliana to the town where I grew up, Milltown, NJ. I was hoping to get there in time for the kids to see the parade, but it took forever to get them dressed and out of the house, that by the time we got there, it was long over. No big deal though, when we got there it was at least 95 degrees, and to me it felt even hotter. Se we went down to Borough Park, where everyone gathers after the parade. They had some bounce houses set up, a few rides and games for the kids, but it was just too darn hot. They played on the playground for a few minutes, had some ice cream, and then we called it a day. Headed over to my brother Steve's house for some AC and a pool.

Check out this AMC Pacer! I love that when I'm taking a picture of something, Eliana goes and stands in front of it now. They used to not like having their pictures taken, but they seem to be getting used to the idea.

Eliana being silly while enjoying a cupcake.

This is how the majority of their day was spent yesterday, in the pool! I had to watch them like a hawk, because neither one know how to swim yet, but Evan was being very brave and trying. He was kicking back and forth between the steps, and even jumped from the steps to me, I think swimming lesson are in order for both of them.

Ms. Eliana just loved putting her feet in the water and splashing.

Evan being very brave!

Our little sweetheart.

Evan told me this is how he "goes underwater."

Note to self: Remember to bring swimmy diapers.

Then, of course, there were the fireworks!

Eliana 5 minutes into the fireworks. She slept through the whole show!
