Lancaster Barnstormers Baseball!

Evan got a foul ball!

Unbelievable. I walk away for not even 5 minutes to get a hot dog for Eliana, I come back to our seats and Evan has a baseball! I couldn't believe it. I was so happy for him, but at the same time had the typical dad fantasy of heroically catching a foul ball bare handed as it comes at us like a heat seeking missile, and casually handing to my son. Well, it didn't happen that way, but Evan got a free souvenier from the game! As Genevieve tells it, as soon as I left to get a hot dog, a foul ball came right towards their seats, and just missed Evan by two seats. Genevieve tried to cover Eliana. The ball bounced underneath the seats, and some really great person, seeing the ball land near Evan, picked it up and handed it to him. What a great moment. 

We took a ride out to Lancaster, PA today to watch the Lancaster Barnstormers play the Bridgeport (CT) Bluefish. They are part of the Atlantic League, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball. We mainly went there to see Muno and Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba who were making an appearance at the game. Evan and Eliana got to see them, and we took some great snapshots. There was also a playground for the kids, complete with a pirate ship and carousel.

Eliana mostly enjoyed going all the way to the top of the stairs, then back down, then back up again. Note her new purple sneakers.

Evan thought it was hilarious to punch me in the jaw while Mommy tried to take pictures. 

Eliana hoping for some late inning heroics from the home team...it wasn't to be, the Barnstormers lost this one 8-4.
